Izu Oshima Island Camillia Festival
We were on the island just at the end of their camillia festival. This blossom is starting to fade, but I liked the contrast with the sky behind it. They make camillia lotions, shampoos, and soaps. They even make beads from the seeds and sell them as necklaces. The flowers fill gardens, and also grow wild along the roads.
