Born and raised in South Africa, that first trip to Europe opened my eyes to a whole new world of beautiful scenery, astounding history and interesting people. Since then, I have tried to visit a foreign country at least once a year and have travelled through most of Europe, visited Singapore and Thailand, and braved both Mozambique and Zanzibar on my home continent. We’re the Bergrens, a family living in suburban Colorado, but we have a serious travel bug–and we hope our site will encourage you to travel too. So far our kids (ages 14, 11, and 6) have been to Italy, England, France, the West Indies, and many states within the USA. In 2010, we hope to go to Mexico, California, Montana, Israel and perhaps more.

By the Parton family, people from our home town who recently completed a trip around the world: Our dear family consists of two dreamers and our three children, ages 3-13. If you know us well, you know we look at life as an adventure, and we love to travel near and far. We long to learn about other cultures and traditions, and how we can become better global citizens. Border Jumpers
BorderJumpers.org began in October 2009 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia — when Bernard Pollack and Danielle Nierenberg began a journey to visit nearly every country in Africa. At every stop they are meeting with farmers, community organizers, labor activists/leaders, unions, non-governmental organization (NGOs), the funding and donor communities, and local press.
With a Sony handycam, a 8-year old laptop, and sporadic internet connections – their goal is to bring stories of hope from across the region to as large an audience as possible. They will tell the stories that aren’t being told—from oil workers fighting to have a union in Nigeria to innovative ways farmers and pastoralists are coping with climate change.
Teen Travelers
Olivia, @TeenTraveler, is a high school freshman, basketball player, fledgling driver…and is gearing up to be a serious world traveler. So far she’s been to England, France, Italy, the West Indies and many of the States in the Western U.S.A. She’s looking forward to a trip to Mexico for Spring break, New York and Montana this Summer, and is dreaming about other RTW excursions. Her parents run the web site www.theworldiscalling.com, but Liv wanted her own gig, so here ’tis.
Family on Bikes
The four of us (Mom, Dad and eleven-year-old twin boys) are bicycling from Alaska to Argentina. When we reach the southernmost tip of South America, Davy and Daryl will become the new Guinness World Record holders as the youngest people to cycle the Pan-American Highway! Follow along on our blog!

A family of three from Santa Cruz, California. Mom and Dad are in our early 50′s and our “nina” was 5 years old when they began. An epic odyssey: open-ended, years long slow trip around the world as a family adventure, unschool, spiritual journey and lifestyle.

We are a family of three, with a passion for travel, seeking out new experiences, meeting new people, and living simply. We are striving to relocate, yes, you read correctly, as in MOVE, to Thailand. We share our stories to: 1) document travel memories for our daughter, 2) showcase that service to others and travel could be combined, 3) travel in and of itself is an educational experience for our child, 4) live with only the *necessities* without the need to overindulge in material possessions, and 5) inspire other families to get out of their comfort zone and explore (even if it means in your own backyard!). It can be done without breaking the bank!

Falk Custom Adventures was created by Derek Falk, a resident of Southern California who has always loved traveling, exploring new destinations and immersing himself into unfamiliar cultures. After working many proud and dedicated years as a firefighter and paramedic, Derek finally decided it was time to follow his passion for adventure and start his own company.
Tashi Nyenda Adventure
We never made it to Bhutan, although I still really want to go. I met, virtually, a tour operator there and had several conversations about his amazing country. I’ll probably mae it someday and will probably track down Karma Gyeltshen when I go.
