So true! Cape Town gives one a soothing feel when toured. Plenty of travellers taking flights to Cape Town quite amazingly get fond of the scenic beauty this destination beholds for them.

Thanks, Sabrina. But here's our gripe: Buying the round trip ticket when you are not using the return is more expensive and a bit wasteful. We travelled around the world with our kids (obviously) heading from West to East. While a lot of our travel was overland, we landed internationally in France, South Africa, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Japan, and Australia on one way tickets, in addition to the Seychelles. Of all of those, only one other time we were asked what our departure flight was, and only in the Seychelles were we detained until we had proof, not just that we had the financial ability to leave the country, but proof that we would be leaving the country. Whatever the reason, it was a bit baffling. I appreciate your note. We did have a good time, overall.

Thanks, Sabrina. We were a little surprised by it, since we were told tourism was so important. Our guess was that the locals don't feel that they benefit directly from the visitors being there. We were also not staying in a really touristic area, so maybe the locals felt like we were intruding. It was not that way on La Digue at all, people were very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Praslin was in between the two, as far as our experience with the locals go, although we were only there a couple of nights. I appreciate your note, it does mean something that a Seychellois took the time to read my posts and follow up when they were less than glowing. Thank you!
