I just finished a post on the old www.blogduderanch.com blog for Rock Springs Ranch about visiting the lodge to see the finished remodel during an open house there last week. If you are curious about what changes they made, you can read a bit about it there. Many of the changes are upgrades we talked about and had on our wish list, but could never afford. A few I would not have done, but isn’t that always the case when you sell real estate and the new owners renovate?
John read me a headline from the Bulletin a few minutes ago about tourism, and whether the summer will help the industry or cause further damage is anybody’s guess. It reminds me of how unbelievably happy I am that we are not trying to survive as a dude ranch right now. We may be heading in a new direction and unsure of how to make income, but we don’t have dozens of other people relying on us for their employment. That twice-monthly making payroll hurdle was stressful enough when the economy was fairly sound, and we had enough business to get by. Now it’s just figuring out how to drive website traffic and keeping up on content. If we succeed or fail, it is only us.
I’ve started tweeting on twitter. It’s actually a pretty interesting space, I think I rather like it. My address there is http://twitter.com/GillAdventures.
Cheers!
